Day 1: 100% Pure New Zealand Activity 1

Activity 1:  Go to the Tourism New Zealand website and click on the ‘Facts - New Zealand People’ tab. Read about the people of New Zealand and then choose three interesting facts to post on your blog. The facts must be written in your own words. Do not simply copy and paste the facts from the website☺.

  1. Hi Malia,
I like New Zealand because it has lots of people and sports. I hope you win. Good luck

    Great work!

  2. Hi Malia,
I like how you created a google draw to show your facts about New Zealand! Very detailed! I like how you put some pictures on the side to show your audience what your talking about and what it looks like!
Good luck, and hope soon you keep up the good effort!

  3. Kia ora Malia and welcome to the Winter Learning Journey programme. I am so excited that you have joined us this year!

I hope that you enjoyed your first activity. You did a really nice job of creating a very colourful and informative DLO about NZ. I particularly like the way that you added so much detail, including images to your blog post. The pictures really add to the overall effect.

Of the three facts that you posted I was most astounded by the statistics about the population of the country. It is hard to believe that over half of the country lives in the north island and that many of those individuals live in Auckland. Do you enjoy living in such a big city or would you prefer to live somewhere that is a bit smaller and quieter? I quite enjoy living in Auckland but I am used to big cities. Before moving to Auckland I lived in Vancouver, Canada. It is a city with a population of 2.5 million people. It is approximately twice the size of Auckland!

Where would you most like to live? A small rural town or a big city?

I hope that you will continue to blog with us a lot over the next few weeks. There is so much that we still have yet to learn about New Zealand!

    All the best,
    Rachel :)

  4. Hi Malia. Great first Winter Learning Journey post. Looking forward to seeing your future posts.
